What the hell is going on here?

It seems that all there is is bad news for Canadians and for some other countries around the world this week.  Starting off with the death of Nelson Mandela which was a blow to the entire world which lost a great leader and as President Obama said "the last great liberator of the 20th century".

But that is not all.  In Syria, refugees are sleeping in tents in sub freezing temperatures.  In India, the Supreme Court, homosexuality was just declared illegal, and in Australia gay marriage was just also repealed and declared illegal.  In the Ukraine, soldiers and police are clashing with civilians who want greater ties to Europe, and that scenario is getting more and more violent.  The violence in Africa is getting worse not better with French Soldiers dying in the Central African Republic as they try to keep the peace.  There is an almost daily barrage of IED's i Iraq targeting police and civilians, and in Afghanistan there is coldness developing between the US and President Karzai.  In Zimbabwe, President Mugabe plans to start arresting owners of every foreign business starting in January.  The Arab Spring has been a disaster.  Lybia is be eaten alive by the inside by small militias fighting for power, Egypt is not longer ruled by an elected government, and Syria is still fighting.  Across Africa, there is more and more violence and destruction.

In The United States there was a government shutdown, and almost a fiscal crisis.  The banks caused a massive global economic crisis in 2008 that the world is still recovering from while the banks now making tremendous profits.  There are shootings at schools, colleges, malls, and even military bases.  The gun happy American people don't care who gets killed as long as they get to keep their guns.  There was no justice for Treyvon Martin who was murdered by George Zimmerman who was later charged with assaulting his girlfriend..

In another bizarre incident in Colorado, a 6 yr old boy was suspended from school for kissing the hand of classmate.  It seems that that was considered sexual harassment and the boy is now considered a sex offender.  Cone on, has not political correctness on to far.  This boy is 6 and doing what normal 6 yr olds do.  To label him a sex offender is ludicrous.  His parents had to explain what sex was.

I am fully aware that we have to protect our kids from predators, both on the street and on the Internet, and we have o prevent bullying and cyberbullying, but come on,sometimes, kids are just kids.  We have to give the time time to explore and grow.  Labelling a 6 yr old boy a sex offender is not the way to go,  Now to him, everything sexual will wrong to him for the rest of his life.  This could create something way worse than it is..

Across the world, the Christian holiday of Christmas has been pre-empted by commercialism.  Buy cheap crap, when it breaks, buy another one.  In Caada we have an even worse problem.  Kelloggs Canada announced they are closing the London Ontarion plant losing 500 jobs.  Canada Goose, the last truly Canadian garment manufacturer has been sold to an American equity firm, Canada Post plans to cut door to door mail delivery with a loss of 8000 jobs, Blackberry is still restructuring with a huge loss of jobs in the tech sector.   The governments procurement process for buying military equipment is being reviewed and there may even be job losses there.  All of this information came out in the few week before Christmas,  What a hell of a way for the Canadian government to announce their intention to the Canadian People.  "we are going on holiday and the house is shut ... the rest of you fend for yourselves."

I am sorry Mr. Prime Minister, the is not good enough.. When are you going to stop bleeding jobs from Canada and when you will put laws in place that not only protect our children from predators, but from ridiculous overzealous, over political correctness.   Our children need to grow up in an environment that is safe everywhere from home to school to employment.
